Nutrition

Myth: If you want results, you have to live off chicken and rice and you’ll be hungry all the time

Reality: Restrictive diets don’t work in the long run. In the past, I’ve had clients come to me that have tried Keto, Weight Watchers, intermittent fasting and Slimming World, all of which they’ve had no luck with. They may have seen short term results, but the extreme restriction meant that they were not able to sustain them, and either ended up back where they started, or worse.

Many people take an all or nothing approach to their diet, they’re either super restrictive or eat anything and everything. This is not the way to get results and you’ll eventually create a very bad relationship with food if you continue to do so. The media have done an excellent job of creating ‘good’ and ‘bad’ foods, which has altered the way we think about our diets.

When you yoyo diet like this, it can have a massive impact on your mental, physical and nutritional health. You can become obsessive about what you eat, and eventually, it slowly begins to take over your life. This often ends in a blowout, and you never really learn about how to properly fuel your body.

The key to fat loss and building muscle is ensuring you eat a balanced diet, jam-packed with vegetables, proteins, carbs, fats and foods you simply enjoy eating. You need to be eating a sufficient amount of protein to build muscle, and carbohydrates to keep your energy up during training session. Although you may need to control your calories, working with me you will not feel restricted. We will cover everything you need to know about nutrition so that you can make your own, healthy decisions and finally start to build a positive relationship with food.
