Everything You Need to Know About Paiige Fitness Lifestyle
It can be hard to choose a Coach because there are a lot of us out there. Especially with the rise of online coaching, there’s even more choice and you don’t even have to meet your trainer in real life.
With that in mind, I wanted to put together a series of blogs that will help bridge the gap between me and my clients online. Through these blogs, I’ll be dispelling any health and fitness myths and introducing key ideas that will help you start your fitness journey.
Why train with me?
You should join the Paiige Fitness Lifestyle programme if:
- You’re new to weight training and want to learn more
- Building a better relationship with your body is important to you
- Learning to create healthy food habits is a must
- You’re tired of feeling you’re always falling on and off the wagon
Over the years I’ve noticed a pattern of women coming to me with similar habits that are stopping them from reaching their goals. So, I’ve put together 6 of the most common fitness and nutrition habits clients are dealing with, and how I help women overcome them during the course of our training.
Previous fitness habits
Big focus on cardio
Many women who come to me have a history of sticking to the cardio equipment when they visit the gym. They spend 10-20 minutes walking on the treadmill before moving onto the stairmaster or cross trainers and then maybe finish the session with 10 minutes of core.
Whilst this is fine, it won’t get you results, especially if fat loss or muscle definition is your goal.
How can I help? I want to unpick your relationship with exercise and help you to understand that long bouts of cardio isn’t necessary for your goals. Instead you need to pivot towards weight training and using cardio as a supplementary tool.
Afraid of using weights
It’s no surprise that so many clients come to me afraid of picking up weights in the gym. This area of the gym can be extremely intimidating and is not tailored to beginners. As a result, clients come to me with zero experience lifting weights and are therefore no closer to achieving their goals.
How can I help? As well as teaching you how to lift properly, my job is to make sure you’re 100% confident walking into the gym. We will work on nailing down your technique so that you can be assured that whether training with me or alone, you are executing the workout properly.
No structure or routine
Another problem that my clients face before working with me is sticking to a structured training programme. Without any accountability it can be difficult to keep up with your training and stay motivated. Another problem is sticking to a programme. For many, progress doesn’t come quick enough and if they don’t see any drastic changes within a few weeks they change their programme which is like taking two steps back.
How can I help? Accountability is one of the main responsibilities of being a coach. Having someone send a check in text once a week can be the difference between achieving and not achieving results. This is why I ask for a minimum term of 12 weeks working together. It takes this amount of time for results to happen, any shorter and it will just be a quick fix.
Previous client nutritional habits
Yo-Yo dieting
We’ve all been there, me too. Especially with social media selling fad diets, it’s become way too easy to get caught up in the quick fixes that our favourite celebrities are promoting. But you and I both know that it doesn’t work, especially not in the long-run.
How can I help? I want to help you reinvent your relationship with food. I’ll be showing you that it’s not about being as strict as possible with your diet because that won’t last. Instead we will build the foundations of a healthy and balanced diet that you can incorporate into your lifestyle.
Undereating
I know this might come as a surprise, but most of my clients that are looking for weight loss are usually undereating. I know, it’s confusing. But over the years they have become so afraid of food that it has led them to reduce their calories to an impractical level, meaning they aren’t getting the nutrients necessary to fuel their workouts. And it’s usually restrictions like this that cause binge eating on the weekends.
How can I help? Food is not the enemy. In fact, if you want to get stronger then you need to be putting nutrients and protein in particular into your body. We’ll work together to establish a more balanced nutritional routine that leaves you feeling satisfied and less likely to binge.
Not getting the balance
I know you’ve got goals to smash, but you still want a life right? You can have both. Of course if you want to achieve something then you need to put the work in and some sacrifices may have to be encountered, but there’s nothing sustainable about missing family meals and social occasions to lose weight.
How can I help? Together we will plan your food accordingly so that you can stay on track whilst maintaining a social life. This means forward planning. It also means sitting down and discussing which social occasions are a must and which you might want to call a rain check on if you know it’s going to drastically hinder your progress.
If you need help and support with navigating your fitness journey I want to help.
